Doc Johnson is a brand of sex toys manufactured from a company that was setup by Rueben Sturman in 1976. His company was created after Reuben saw how profitable his sex magazine business had been. Although This was the 70’s and many legal issues surrounded Mr. Sturman, arising from his reported connection with the mafia, and his allegedly 20 aliases, which he used to protect his identity during this tumultuous time.

He was eventually arrested in 1989 after his adamant refusal to pay any sort of taxes to the US Government; he was convicted of tax evasion, and subsequently paid 2.5 Million USD in fines, and received a 10 year jail sentence which was further extended after he was caught attempting to bribe a member of the Jury. This meant an additional 19 years of jail time for attempted extortion. He managed to briefly escape from his correctional facility in California, but was picked up in Anaheim. He died in a federal prison in Kentucky on October 27, 1997.
