Sex Blogs have seen a rise in recent years both to the popularity of blogs, and the attitude in general towards sex, and people in general seeking more information about various related sex topics.

 These blogs can be in form the of sex advice columns taking questions from readers, and answering their questions, or can be something as part of a website who offers sex toys and can describe a toys functions in more detail, and of new models that have just arrived, or are intending to receive in the future.

The benefits of following and asking questions on a blog are the relative anonymity of the user reading the blog. The participant can leave a comment, e-mail the blogger, or just read the page from time to time.  

Sex blogs are uniquely positioned to answer possible questions people have about sex (and people have a lot of questions regarding sex) and as such may feel uncomfortable asking questions with their doctor, or broaching the subject with their partner or a friend.

A blogger can also give helpful advice to people who read their site.  They can offer first rate advice on which toys may be helpful to help a women achieve her first orgasm, or to achieve better orgasms. They can also offer tips and safety knowledge regarding special aspects of sex, like anal play, or BDSM etiquette.

The most common issue facing relationships is a lack of proper communication; this leads to distancing, which invariably leads to lack of appreciation and understanding for the other person. Sex is one of the primary issues, as one partner may not feel confident in discussing their sexual needs because a) they feel too embarrassed to discuss their wishes or b) they’ve tried before and been shut-down or ridiculed.  Because of this, the person may need a third party to help answer their question; or how to successfully (if possible) raise the subject with their partner.
