Erotic BDSM

Posted by in Sex Wiki on Nov 15, 2010 . 0 Comments.

Erotic BDSM is a sub-genre of BDSM, which is intended for the climax or arousal of the submissive, and sometimes the Dominant role (This is referred to as Dom/sub, or D/s). This differs from the broader term of BDSM in which sexual climax is not always the intended goal.

Generally speaking, the Dominant role is tasked with ordering and commanding the submissive, taking control of the situation in order to sexual excite the submissive role. The submissive role is, by choice, the participant who takes orders, and submits to the Dominant role up to where they feel comfortable with regards to pain threshold, and comfort zones.

Erotic BDSM is generally considered a softer version of Dom/Sub play, as one or both partners hope to achieve either sexual arousal, or an orgasm, thus pain is limited in the fact that a climax is the intended objective. That being said, participants still engage in BDSM with limits, and the use of sex toys, such as whips and harnesses are still used as in the other types of BSDM.

Stereotypical Erotic Dom/sub can involve the use of ropes, crosses/harnesses, collars, cuffs, vibrators, nipple clamps, and the type of play, such as spanking, and climax denial (Which is bringing the sub to the breaking point of their orgasm, then stopping all stimulation) and these can all result in either forced orgasms for the submissive role. The dominant role can also achieve climax through the use of ordering the submissive participant to engage in oral or manual stimulation of the Dominant role.

The use of toys or restraints gives the submissive role the feeling of helplessness, which is part of the allure to the sub. Harnesses, spanking chairs, and ropes give the chance for the sub to live out his or her fantasy, knowing that their Dom will stop at any time should the sub feel uncomfortable carrying out certain orders from the Dominant role. This is a reason as to why Professional dominants can be well suited for people ready to explore the world of Bondage and/or domination.

A professional, sometimes referred to as a Pro-dom, or in the case of a female a Fem-dom, carry out the acts for the willing submissive, and does so in what is colloquially known as a 'dungeon', and although sexual intercourse is usually forbidden this can still achieve orgasm for the participant. Furthermore, in a professional setting, the Dom, understands the personal limits set both by themselves, and sub.The location of the dungeon can also be, contrary to popular belief, more comfortable to the submissive knowing that noise concerns are not a factor, and additionally that proper equipment is being used.

Participants involved in Erotic BDSM, tend to enjoy the act of D/s as it pertains to sexual arousal, thus those who engage in the Bondage and Domination (B&D) have attempted to separate from the negative connotations of Sado-Masochism (S&M).
